mp28

The MP28 or MP28/II is a German submachine gun, predominantly chambered in 9×19mm Parabellum. It was designed by Hugo Schmeisser in late 1920s as a post-World War I improvement on his earlier MP18. Manufactured by C.G. Haenel plant in Suhl, Germany.

Albeit being similar to the earlier MP18, the main improvement over the MP18 was the inclusion of a fire selector device in the form of a cross-bolt switch above the trigger group, which could give single shots or fully-automatic fire. The narrow recoil spring and guide rod of the MP18 was replaced by a wide diameter spring. The MP28 still utilized blowback, open-bolt mechanism. The magazine is inserted on the left side, standard capacity is 20 or 30-round. However, the MP28 does not accept the 32-round "snail" drum magazine of the Artillery Luger anymore.
