A cup traditionally used to hold tea and other hot beverages. They're typically depicted alongside saucers, teapots, and/or tea sets.


In Japan, tea-drinking may be done with yunomi: these are cyndrical cups without handles. And a chawan is a bowl-shaped cup without handles, found in East Asia.


In China, a traditional cup used for tea-drinking - often seen with a lid - is a gaiwan.
