Created by CAPSULE Inc. with initial partnership and licensing from Ichikara, VEgo initially served as Nijisanji's original Chinese branch(es), referred to as the "Nijisanji VTuber Project" (二次三次虚拟主播企划). The branches were based in Shanghai and in Taipei. Auditions started on July 17, 2018, and the branch itself began running from August 24, 2018 onward.
By the end of March 2019, Nijisanji Shanghai had been deprecated, and on March 29, the branches stopped using the name 'Nijisanji', after CAPSULE lost the license for it. The Shanghai branch, consisting only of one person by that point (who'd later retired on May 10, 2019), would be merged into the Taipei branch, and they collectively changed their name to VEgo. By March 31, 2020, VEgo would go inactive by virtue of its final VTuber doing so. The profiles of all the members are included below, for the most part.
