In Greek mythology, Artemis is the goddess of the hunt, the wild, wild animals, the moon, and chastity. Daughter of ]] and Leto, and twin sister of [[Apollo (mythology)|. Patron protector of young girls, and was worshipped as a goddess of childbirth. While she had sworn to never marry, as per her domain, she attracted the attention of many men. However, only the hunter Orion had won her heart, a love that would end with his death, either unknowingly by Artemis' hands or by the stinger of a scorpion.
