Barbenheimer, also known as Barbie Heimer, is a portmanteau of the words "Barbie" and "Oppenheimer" in reference to the 2023 movies Barbie and Oppenheimer, which were released on the same date (July 21st, 2023), causing a slew of ]] vs. [[Oppenheimer (movie)| memes that humorously combined the contrasting aesthetics and themes of both films. Several iterations of the meme include other properties that share the same date, notably Pikmin 4 (also releasing July 21st) and Shin Kamen Rider (appearing on streaming globally via Amazon Prime Video July 21st).
