canis_major_(constellation)
Canis Major (the Greater Dog) is a constellation located in the Southern celestial hemisphere. Its name, the Greater Dog, refers to and contrasts it with nearby ]], the Lesser Dog. Its brightest star is [[Sirius (star)|, part of the Winter Triangle and the brightest star in the sky other than the Sun.
Canis Major represents a stick figure of an animal with a long, slender body and a triangular head. It has somewhat similar features to Lupus (constellation), but can be distinguished by its "tail": Canis Major has it, while Lupus doesn't.
