Weekly Shonen Jump manga series created by Takahashi Youichi in 1981. A soccer - based manga, it tells the story of Oozora_Tsubasa on his journey to win FIFA World Cup for Japan. It is notable both for increasing popularity of soccer in Japan and inspiring other non-Japanese players such as World Cup winners Andres Iniesta, Lukas Podolski and Fernando Torres.
