He originally had no name, and was only referred to using a first-person pronoun (
ぼくLooks extremely similar to Ness (mother 2) with his blue and yellow striped shirt and turned red baseball cap. As a result, most fanartists add the bandana from the infamous MOTHER commercial to his wardrobe and keep his hat turned opposite to Ness' to distinguish between them.
