A popular dish originating from Turkey, popularized in the West by Turkish immigrants in Germany. It features meat_cooked on a vertical rotisserie, slowly turning and creating crispy, flavorful layers. The meat is shaved off as it cooks and typically served in a warm pita (food) bread with fresh vegetables and a creamy sauce. Often just referred to as a 'döner', 'shawarma', or even just 'kebab'.
