Dragon Ball Z is the second Dragon Ball anime series produced by Toei Animation, serving at the direct sequel to the classic Dragon Ball anime series and covering the post-timeskip story in the original Dragon Ball manga.

The anime introduced Goku's sons and relatives, the Saiyan race (including the Super Saiyan), the Namekian race, the Genki Dama, more Dragon Ball (object)s, the afterlife, and a host of all-powerful villains. An incredible amount of non-canon theatrical releases came out in relation to Z during its prime.
