escoffion
Medieval headwear worn by women, popular during the Late Middle Ages. Made up of two split appendage-like mounds, often shaped in pointed 'horn'-like manner, or a curved 'heart'-like manner. It was sometimes imposingly wide.
Contrast with the hennin, which is tall instead of wide.
