imsa_sportscar_championship
A motorsport series officiated by IMSA, formed in 2014 after a merger between the American Le Mans Series and the Grand-Am_Sports_Car_Championship. As of 2016 the title sponsor is WeatherTech, making it's current official name the IMSA Weathertech SportsCar Championship.
The series consists of endurance and sprint races, including the prestigious Rolex_24_Hours_at_Daytona and the 12_Hours_of_Sebring. The grid consists of multiple prototype_classes (GTP & LMP2), as well as GT3 cars separated into 2 classes based on driver lineup (GTD-Pro & GTD). DPi and LMP3-spec prototypes, and GTE-spec sports cars previously competed in this series, but were retired between the 2021-2023 seasons.
