The Jagdpanzer IV, or Sd.Kfz. 162, was a German World War II tank destroyer based on the Panzerkampfwagen_IV chassis and built in three main variants.
The Jagdpanzer IV was made to replace the Stug_III as the war progressed. But there were arguments they there was a waste of Panzer IV chassis since Stug IIIs could preform their task more than adequately. Either way the Jagdpanzer IV was still produced, a total of around 2,000 of them were manufactured in total.
