Jarhead is a 2005 biographical war film based on the 2003 memoir of the same name by Anthony Swofford, chronicling his military service in the U.S._Marine_Corps during the Gulf War.
The film was directed by Sam Mendes, and stars Jake Gyllenhaal as Swofford.
