An American DotA-inspired MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena) game developed by Riot Games. Being one of the most popular games in the world.
The game is best known for its deep characterization of each character (called "Champion" in-game), including their in-game skins which typically presents an alternate universe version of the character with their own storylines.
Due to its popularity, the game has become one of the pioneers of the eSport industry as well as spawning several spin-off multimedia projects, such as an animated series and music videos.
The playerbase is somewhat notorious for being extremely toxic.
