A plesiosaurid cryptid rumored to be living in the eponymous Lock Ness lake in Scotland. Also referred to as "Nessie" for short.
Despite the story were later debunked as a hoax, nessie still lives on in popular culture as one of the most recognizable cryptid, along with bigfoot.
