mallet_(instrument)
A [percussion mallet](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Percussion_mallet#Mallets) used to play some percussion instruments, such as marimba, xylophone, and timpani. Made of a thin shaft (usually metal or wood) and a head of varying materials - most commonly metal, wood, rubber, plastics, or yarn - to produce a range of different sounds.
