Failed clones of ]]s, significantly weaker and barely able to latch on to their prey. They are first seen in Super Metroid, as holograms in the demo release of [[Metroid Prime Hunters, and in Metroid Prime 4: Beyond.
Physically they share almost every trait a standard Metroid does, but have only one nucleus instead of the usual four.
