The titular creatures that inhabit Neopets. They come in many colors, that can be applied to a pet using a paintbrush or other specific methods such as a morphing potion or the lab ray.
Neopets range in degree of sentience - most named characters are anthropomorphic, while the player's Neopets are treated more similarly to actual pets.
