A fictional military spacecraft from the MACROSS science fiction series. It first appeared in the Choujikuu Yousai Macross TV series from 1982.
The Oberth Class Space Destroyer (オーベルト級 Ōberuto-kyū) is a human built warship designed as the primary combat starship of the new United_Nations_Spacy fleet.
Built with OverTechnology and armed with reaction_weaponry, the Oberth compensated for lightweight armor (the only weakness) with a simple, easy-to-build structure, high maneuverability and excellent firepower. A direct hit from one of the Oberth reaction missiles could incapacitate a Zentradi Standard Battleship of the Thurvel-Salan Class.
