Princess of the Mushroom Kingdom, frequent damsel in distress kidnapped by Bowser and rescued by Mario.

Originally known outside of Japan as "Princess Toadstool", until in 1993 "Peach" appeared in the game Yoshi's Safari, then in 1997 was primarily used in the game Mario Kart 64.
