- The 2021 Russian military buildup near the Ukrainian borders
- The 2022 full-scale invasion of Ukraine
- Wagner leader Yevgeny Prigozhin's mutiny against the Russian military leadership in June 2023, and subsequent death in August
- The August 2024 surprise incursion of Ukrainian Forces into Kursk Oblast, Russia.
- North Korea sending their troops in October 2024 at Kursk.
