A 2009 ]] anime series directed by Imagawa Yasuhiro. The series is a reimagination of the classic super robot series that incorporates elements of the [[Zeta Mazinger manga (most notably the elements of Greek mythology) and makes references to various other Nagai Gou works.
A manga series titled True Mazinger Zero was released alongside the anime, and was later followed up with Shin Mazinger Zero.
