A horror game rife with references to other popular horror. In it, the player must navigate a mostly randomly-generated mansion made up of 1000 floors, with checkpoints placed throughout. On certain floors, the rooms have preset layouts, and the player will encounter a monster that proceeds to chase them for a few floors. These monsters may also appear later in the game at random to chase the player.
The game is notable for having a very cutesy appearance, which is arguably creepy in and of itself.
At least, until the first monster shows up, at which point the game takes a very dark turn into being actually terrifying. The ambiance, room designs, and monsters become increasingly horrifying as the game progresses.
A DLC, Karamari Hospital, was released for the game after the full release. As the name implies, it takes place in a hospital.
Don't worry, it's just as terrifying as the original.
