The first stage in the original ]] [[sonic_the_hedgehog 1|the Hedgehog. Its a tropical island with checkered hillsides. It has also appeared in several subsequent games, as well as appearing in crossover games such as Super Smash Bros. and Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax.
